Ralf, the average you get is the average of the data after it has been made 'fit' for display if this is causing confusion, you may calculate the data externally using rrdtool fetch for example and add it into the graph ....
for all normal cases the average will not be affected noticably by this. Except for one case ... if you build the 'average' of a 'max' RRA ... since rrdtool graph will use max for consolidating the data (makeing it fit for display) before giving it to the average function you defined ... hope this helps cheers tobi -- ______ __ _ /_ __/_ / / (_) Oetiker @ ISG.EE, ETL F24.2, ETH, CH-8092 Zurich / // _ \/ _ \/ / System Manager, Time Lord, Coder, Designer, Coach /_/ \.__/_.__/_/ http://people.ee.ethz.ch/oetiker +41(0)44-632-5286 -- Unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Help mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archive http://lists.ee.ethz.ch/rrd-users WebAdmin http://lists.ee.ethz.ch/lsg2.cgi
