 Thanks much for the reply.  I am gathering the counters via SNMP and
sticking them in the RRD.  It could certainly be my script is doing
something strange or the counters on the device are bad.  Here is an

You can see just after the nan's I get a reading that is an order of
magnitude higher then everything looks fine.  Would you expect that RRD
would be able to deal with devices going away for short periods then
re-appearing?

calculate information externally, it may be that the external
calculation is to blame ...
