Thanks Steve. You're right, however, I usually prefer to stick to ready-to-install packages and ports instead of configure/make/install. It all depends on what I need exactly : if the (generally old) package version is enough, I go for it. If I need a particular feature only present in more recent versions, I install this one. In the present case, I could try to install the last version and see if it works. Have a nice day.
