I have no idea why you think my message was silly.

While I don't much care whether it is possible or not to do as Steve
suggested - now and presumably in the future have each IPv6 node
generate a unique 64 bit identifier based solely on identifying
numbers in its own hardware - I was trying to discuss what he wrote,
in a separate thread.

Do you think it is or would be practical to do this?  If so, how?

Or do you believe that this is irrelevant to the RRG?
