Hmm, not everyone uses a browser that can download and display fonts.
(With strong apologies for the “well, actually”.)

I'm not sure we really need to optimize for the 14 people who still use lynx. The HTML is also full of Javascript without which you lose some of the utility of the HTML version.

RFCs look fine in lynx (I checked) and if you are enough of a troglodyte to use it, you can probably figure out how to install fonts for your terminal emulator.
