Hey,
I'm trying to backup a bunch of users home dirs. It is about 3.5 Gb or
so. The machine that has the files on it is BSDi 4.0 and the machine
that I'm backing up to is RedHat Linux 6.2. The Linux box has the 2.4.5
version on it. the BSDi box has the 2.3.2 version on it. This is the
command that I use.

rsync -qazr --progress <hostaddy>::home/ /public/puma/home/

I'm getting a lot of permission denied errors. Especially on the mail
dir inside the users home dir. How can I get rsync to run as root so
that I can copy all the files?

These are the other errors that I get.

cannot create cliffrose/.MTVBD{1mRsMkjghU.BDm4DF : Permission denied
unexpected EOF in read_timeout
unexpected EOF in read_timeout

I think that if I can get rsync to run as root that will fix the other
probs.

Thanks,
Brad Davis
