BTW, the same happens for per-host template:
$template
DailyPerHostLogs,"/var/log/syslog/%$YEAR%/%$MONTH%/%$DAY%/%HOSTNAME%.log"
*.* -?DailyPerHostLogs
which interprets the above as coming from %HOSTNAME% "syslogd" and "last",
and therefore gives me the logfiles last.log and syslogd.log.
