Don't feel sorry, I understand. We are looking with Red Hat to rebase 
rsyslog to a newer version asap. We expect by RHEL5.5 to have either v3
or v4. No word yet from Red Hat what their target will be for RHEL5.5. 
(Hopefully the same as RHEL6)

This is related to the bugzilla reports I send to the list recently.

But it would have been nice to know whether there was a solution for this 
on v2 as well, even when I accept that it is old and unsupported here :-)
