Hi Rainer, ok, the question is because based on my config I do not expect or want routine mail messages logged to my messages file, it is over run by messages from courier IMAP and TPOP3 daemons. When using the built in FreeBSD syslog these types of messages are written to the maillog log file, and I dont understand why the same isnt true of rsyslog given the config file I am using,
