Dave,
I may have been going about this the wrong way, thinking I should use all
of rsyslog's fancy features.
Since I can already use expression based filters and redirect messages to the
server, I can do the rest
by putting tags in my messages and have my log analysis programs be tag aware.
That way rsyslog doesn't do much at
