two things come to mind
1. before we worry about making it a PPA, let's see if the new version solves
your problem or not.
2. what is your use case that requires it to be a PPA?

I probably need more debug instrumentation in order to see what's going on.
Also, 7.2.0 is a bit dated, so that alone makes it worth updating.
