Sure, but in any case that's a suggestion that you could make if the problem is not fixed in v5. And AFAIK, Fedora will get v7 due to lumberjack. At least that's part of the talk series for Brno DevConf in February (I focus there on usage scenarios for rsyslog together with log normalization and rewriting).
