Hi Rainer,

let me being more precise with my problem. I would like to have a rsyslog
forwarding files to a remote application on specific port. These logs will
be read from a local file using imfile. The problem is this remote
application can be stopped or busy and might not be ready to accept logs
for a while. In this scenario my concern is what happens if this local file
is rotated and later on the application is ready to accept logs again.

>From your answer I understand that this is not a problem as the imfile
module keeps track of the inode. That is a good new. So there is only a
problem if rsyslog stops and then it gets rotated.

Thanks,
Xavi
