V5: quite a bit, very noticable on a high end system V7: none at all In (recent) v7 there is a script optimizer. It detects when an expression is a simple property-based filter and recompiles it into exactly the same thing. In the master branch, the optimizer even detects things like checks for syslog-priority-text and compiles these down into selector-based filters. While I am still working on it, the optimizer now covers a lot of cases where previously manual work was required. > * Is there a large difference in this .. difference between rsyslog v5 > and rsyslog v7? (I mostly use v5 in production on RHEL & Fedora. And > yes, I'm well-aware of [and thankful for] the new rpm repo.) Looks like I already answered that ;) Rainer _______________________________________________ rsyslog mailing list http://lists.adiscon.net/mailman/listinfo/rsyslog http://www.rsyslog.com/professional-services/ What's up with rsyslog?
