Stupid questions.

1) are you sure the client can access the remote syslog server?
(iptables....)
2) run a tcpdump on the client with "host valid_ip and port 20514" and
you can tell if the client is trying to send logs.

I was testing this scenario today and it took a few minutes before the
logs started sending.
