this not about rsyslog directly, but this issue primarily concerns
rsyslog so I'm sending this here.
When updating librelp and looking for incompatible API changes, I've
noticed that the soname version is not maintained at all. This applies
to all the rsyslog-related libs:
libee/src/Makefile.am:44:libee_la_LDFLAGS = -version-info 0:0:0
libestr/src/Makefile.am:17:libestr_la_LDFLAGS = -version-info 0:0:0
liblognorm/src/Makefile.am:25:liblognorm_la_LDFLAGS = -version-info 0:0:0
librelp/src/Makefile.am:38:librelp_la_LDFLAGS = -version-info 0:0:0
I'm not sure what would be the proper increment to all the versions at
this point. Some historical information on all the libs but librelp can
be viewed on upstream-tracker.org
