As someone who has, over the last year, built an infrastructure based on 5.8.x, and then migrated to 7.4.x, I can sympathize with the poster's comments. I found it confusing to figure out what commands/syntax were applicable to which version, which commands/syntax were supported but deprecated, and descriptions of options and values, etc.. I think that it would be very useful for the documentation site to be updated, and clearly cover the various major version groups. Either as a single document/site with the differences between the version laid out inline, or in separate documents/sites. I don't think that there's a need for a separate doc for every minor revision of the options/syntax, etc., but there's some pretty significant inflection points that are obvious (the module loading example the poster lists is one).
