I would have to confirm, bit as I understand it this module has to be compiled
with the specific library for your version of Hadoop. Because of this it is
difficult to make a blanket release RPM for this module.

Could someone double check this?

Hi,

I am wondering if it would be possible to get the omhdfs module as part of
a RPM?

I have Cloudera CDH 4.4 cluster deployed in my environment and would like
to deploy/test omhdfs with my existing setup of rsyslog-7.4.4 that I
installed from RPMs grabbed off the rsyslog site on RHEL 6.2.

Currently, I am using flume to ingest syslog into hdfs but find that flume
isn't very reliable and maintaining the Java process that runs flume is
another headache.

So I am very interested in seeing an alternate to flume developed. Please
let me know how I can help.

TIA,

Xuri
