I have to admit I don't remember either why it was commented out. but...
it's commented out for quite some while. So I am hesitant if that is needed
for a reason. In any case, I can review the code, but honestly I wouldn't
like to do a lot of testing on various init systems if we don't see an
issue with the current code...
