If I remember correctly, only Brad (FreeBSD maintainer) voted for B. Would be nice to know if he still prefers tarball-in-tarball or not. @ Brad: Isn't it possible to provide multiple sources per port in *BSD like we do in Gentoo? See the nginx port <https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-ports/blob/master/www/nginx/Makefile> ... it is pulling in multiple distfiles... so this should also work for rsyslog, not? If you agree, I think we could go with A... split docs in an own package and provide two tarballs (rsyslog source and docs) but no "tarball-in-tarball".
