At least on the Fedora, openSuse, Ubuntu (thus Debian) I had quickly at
hand it worked. Which platform did you use?
I build in a chroot environment using stock glibc 2.11.3.
I just checked Debian 7, same def for strdup there, so the modification
should work there too.
