I'm needing to build new versions of some of the packages, but I would like to keep everything compatible with the official packages (so that when the next releases come out I can transparently upgrade to them)

Is there some place where the scripts that compile the packages in the PPD are hosted so that I could just use them? (or am I just overlooking that they are already in the source somewhere?)

I'm looking for both what configure options are used and what files end up being put into each .deb package.

I could reverse-engineer this stuff, but it's a lot easier to ask first :-)
