I had the wrong error text for rsyslog error 2054 on my mind. I just checked and it says "interface not supported". So it looks like the version of lmnet is not compatible with the main rsyslog. Can you double-check if both are the same version? If you think they are, we probably need to add further instrumentation so that we know which interface the rsyslog core thinks is missing.
