Hi,

Does rsyslog (and omelasticsearch more specifically) use persistent TCP
connections?
Is there a setting for that, and ..... is there a way to check if
persistent connections are really used?

The reason I ask is that at our customers send their logs to Logsene
<http://sematext.com/logsene> using TLS or HTTPS and we'd like to avoid
every call to Logsene to go through a TLS handshake.

Yes, TCP keeps the connection open until you send rsyslog a HUP or if you configure a rebindinterval to tell it to disconnect and reconnect periodically.
