Hi,
How does rsyslog behave when processing messages and a kill -HUP signal is
recieved?
Let's assume we have several queues (main queue, ruleset-queue) filled.
Now we send a kill -HUP signal which is processed by the main engine as well as
a plugin.
Will all messages from the queues proceeded until the HUP is finally send to
the plugin (some kind of atomar handling), or is the HUP proceeded
undeterministical?
The question is related to a MM module, with the hope to keep consistent states
after a kill-HUP signal.
I read that there were some changes in rsyslog related to older versions...
you don't say what version you are running, but on current versions, a HUP just
tells rsyslog to close it's outputs (which get re-opened when there is a log
message to deliver to that output). All internal queues stay as-is.
