Hi, for completeness:
I changed "asyncWriting" from "on" to "off" for 24h which fixed the log. Today I turned "asyncWriting" back on again and truncated/mixed messages re-appeared. I am now waiting for recent rsyslog for Debian Jessie to test if this problem is still present in latest rsyslog.
