Hi everyone,

we have made some changes to the RPMs for RHEL/CentOS 6/7, which can
be tested right now.

Since the trouble we had with the last iteration of packages could be
rooted to the latest libfastjson release, we had to think about
alternatives when building the RPMs. Thus, we created the separate RPM
libfastjson4, which also represents the .so version. The new RPM for
rsyslog 8.20.0 was built against it and can now be tested.

The new RPMs are released in the testing branch and need to be
considered experimental. If someone wants to try the RPMs, please
replace the rsyslog.repo file in /etc/yum.repos.d with the file
available here:
http://rpms.adiscon.com/testing/rsyslog.repo

Alternatively, the existing rsyslog.repo file can be edited to use
"testing" instead of "v8-stable". This should also work just fine.

For these RPMs, we could really use some good feedback, be it positive
or negative, so we can take a look at possible issues. If we do no or
not helpful feedback until next week, we'll push the RPMs to v8-stable
and will consider them working fine.

Please note, these RPMs are really just for testing and will go away
after a while. So please, do not consider them permanent when trying
to use them. Also, you will use them at your own risk. It is not
recommended to apply them in a production environment right away.

We are looking forward to your feedback.

Florian
