Hello List:

I have two rsyslog v8.39 servers, one on RHEL 7 and one on Fedora 29, that seem to be misreporting IMPTCP session.openfailed statistics.  Specifically, the sessions.openfailed count is always identical to the sessions.opened count as if both counters were being incremented

I know both servers are functioning correctly and delivering messages as desired.  I cannot find any indications of error in either /var/log/syslog or /var/log/messages.

It is more of a nuisance issue than anything else, but we want to monitor for this circumstance at the SIEM as an indication of performance degradation and it makes reporting on such things unreliable.

Is anyone else experiencing this in v8.39 or later?

Thanks and regards,
