The FreeBSD port maintainer does do a rather nice job. *wink* Really, If you look at the freebsd port it's pretty much a model of how to install RT (IMHO): http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/www/rt36/ Take a peak at the Makefile.
