It's been used to generate URIs for years. It causes lots of weird linking problems and actual errors from Articles. You can grab https://raw.github.com/bestpractical/rt/4.2/links_in_validator/sbin/rt-validator.in and drop it into your 4.0.2 tarball on top of the sbin/rt-validator.in and the links option will fix your links for you. -kevin
