4.0.17 and found it much easier to install it from sources on 12.04
than use the repositories.
I would suggest a clean 12.04 and install from source.

12.04 is a "long term support" release that will keep getting updates until
late 2017. By that time you will hopefully have upgraded to 14.04, which will be the

I got Ubuntu 9.10 running and I was wondering/hoping if I can install RT-4.2.0?
Or do I need latest version on Ubuntu to run RT-4.2.0?
Or should I just download the binaries and compile it from source?
