If you installed via apt-get I do not think you will be able to manually upgrade to 4.2.6. If you want to use the latest version of RT then you should download, compile ans install it manually. RT 4.2 is not available until Debian Sid (Unstable): https://packages.debian.org/search?suite=sid&searchon=names&keywords=rt4
