About theposition:
As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will be involved in every aspectof the product
development process, from supporting conceptualizing of ideas totweaking pixels
right before launch. Working closely with product managers andengineers — you
will have a strategic role in defining the experience acrossour portfolio of
products. Location: Chicago, IL or Fort Washington, PA Remote working an
option with frequent travel to client locations Duration: 6 months. May be
extended based on performance and client needs. Job Description
/Responsibilities: • Apply design methods to translate user needs into
intuitiveinterfaces. • Create mockups and clickable prototypes for web and
mobile apps. • Work with design and development teams. • Maintain consistency
of interactions across all products. • Conceptualize architectures, flow
diagrams, and UIspecifications. • Work on multiple projects simultaneously with
the ability toprioritize effectively. • Manage complicated projects from start
to finish. Simplify complex content and ideas into functional, usable
interfaces • Ensure existing UI guidelines and standards are followed duringthe
development and maintenance of the product • Ability to quickly prototype
clear, usable designs • Create and Translate low fidelity wireframes/UX
prototypes intoeffective and appealing interfaces • Proactively recognize UX/UI
gaps in design and propose solutions • Conduct and/or participate in product
usability tests with users • Participating in research and user strategy for a
growingeducation platform Job Requirements: • Minimum of 8 years of proven
UI design experience. • Firm understanding of responsive design and usability •
Expert knowledge of typography and layout principles. • Advanced Sketch and
Adobe Creative Suite skills. Proficiency inPhotoshop and Illustrator; Zeplin,
inVision, Axure and wire-framing tools orsimilar tools • Bachelor’s or
master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction Design or equivalent • Strong
portfolio that illustrates abductive reasoning and problem-solving skillsas
well as an exceptional eye for detail in final products and interactiondesign.
• Excellent visual design skills with solid understanding of humanfactors and
its implications to UI design. • Experience in data visualization is a big
plus. • Mastery of user-centered design principles and
cross-platform,multi-channel development processes (responsive design). •
Work in Agile environment. • Solid expertise in creating wireframes (low and
high-fidelity)storyboards, journey maps, user personas, process diagrams and
site maps. • Strong time management skills and the ability to be
self-directedas needed. • Strong written and verbal communication skills,
able to present athought-out rationale for design decisions. • Experience
gathering user feedback AdditionalRequirements: Experience with: •
Current trends for UX/UIdesign and data visualization • Agile and/or
Scrumdevelopment methods • Conducting or managingusability tests to validate
design • Managing style guides andpattern libraries for large, complex projects
Other Desirable Skills/Experience: • Knowledge and appreciation of the
advances in higher educationalsoftware, course materials, and digital
publishing is a plus • Background and/or experience in educational technology
and/orpublishing • Comfort and/or experience in a startup environment • Ideal
candidate is self-sufficient and highly motivated,self-directed and possesses
