This position will be working full-time on a large Enterprise Information Architecture program that requires an advanced Data Architect and business intelligence skillset while also interacting with the department’s database support team. The program involves developing an information architecture platform that may consist of, but is not limited to, the following features:
•    A comprehensive data governance program – including policies, standards, and data governance software
•    An advanced data analytics platform for business intelligence and predictive analytics – including a data lake, data warehouse
•    Conceptual, logical and physical data models for each data domain
•    Metadata Management, master data management and reference data management
Extensive experience in data governance, business intelligence and data integration techniques is required.  In this position, you will be the subject matter expert (SME) for the information architecture platform. You will be required to participate in the formation of the strategic vision for the data platform, while also being able to work with multiple software vendors to implement the strategic vision.  This position will be responsible for authoring data governance requirements for the selection and acquisition of a data governance software product.  This position will also be responsible for ensuring that all data-related software components adhere to data governance policies and standards.  In addition, this position will be working with a Systems Integrator to develop data integration patterns for integrating data from multiple software components that were developed using heterogeneous technologies.  The candidate must have an extensive understanding of data analysis techniques, including predictive analytics and business intelligence.  
The candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple tasks simultaneously.  The project is currently using the SAFE AGILE methodology, so agile experience is a requirement.
Responsibilities:
•    Act as a subject matter expert for information architecture, including the concepts on master data management, reference data management, and metadata management
•    Lead the team in creating a data governance program, including the documenting of data governance requirements for the purchase of data governance software
•    Analyze data stored in a disparate set of systems to produce data requirements and provide architectural and decision support direction
•    Use industry standards and/or best practices  to develop data integration patterns that will work with heterogeneous technologies 
•    Lead the project team through the process of identifying inconsistencies in data structures (e.g. duplicate data fields) and resolving accordingly
•    Provide a consultative approach with business users, asking questions to understand the business needs for business intelligence and other data analysis techniques
•    Be accountable for integrity and quality of data, ensuring the information meets customer needs
•    Understand how the data interacts with the application code
•    Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects, demonstrate initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
•    Ability to read, understand and create design documents
•    Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Description
 
The Workday ERP Developer 3 (EED 3) is responsible for working with current Iowa DOT integrations staff on integrations analysis/development/testing/debugging between Workday and existing DOT systems and other external vendor and state systems.
Assistance will be needed working with current DOT integrations staff on integrations analysis/development/testing/debugging between Workday and existing DOT systems and other external vendor and state systems. Other duties as assigned.
Project details:
This project will replace many of the financial systems currently residing on the Iowa DOT’s mainframe platform including accounting, inventory procurement, etc. with a cloud-based ERP solution called Workday. To leverage the capabilities of Workday, a new ERP system, Iowa DOT is implementing, streamlining and re-engineering business processes based on best practices while continuing to meet state and federal requirements. Integrations will be created to exchange data with existing developed in internal house systems, vendor applications, and other state entity external systems.
Skills and Technologies:
Experience with Agile/Scrum framework, preferably utilizing Azure DevOps (Microsoft VSTS). Required skills and knowledge include SQL, REST API, ETL, and Reporting. Preferred skills and experience include Workday Financials, Workday Studio, Cobol, JCL, and/or .NET, VB.NET, C#, or Java.
The ERP Developer (EED) is responsible for analysis, design, coding, component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the ERP Team. The EED is involved in enhancement, and development work. He or she has a range of skills and knowledge of the technologies used and applications supported by the ERP Team. The EED reviews analyzes and modifies the programming systems including encoding, testing, and debugging to support an organization's ERP applications. He or she ensures that the software can be completely integrated into the ERP system.  The EED works with the ERP Project Manager, Business Analyst, Architect, and other ERP Team members on an as needed basis to ensure that the design and code meet customer requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
•    Confers with other business and technical personnel to resolve problems of intent, inaccuracy, or feasibility of computer processing.
•    Work with affected personnel to determine if modifications or enhancements are accurate and necessary.
•    Leverage written and verbal communication skills to understand business process and programming solutions as directed by ERP business and technical stakeholders.
•    Proven track record of hands-on ERP technical design and code work within large complex systems.
•    Demonstrated technical expertise integrating a variety of diverse ERP technical environments (Workday Financials) and cross-platform technologies.
•    Able to work independently and in a team environment. 
•    Document progress and/or issues related to work tasks.
•    Able to make ERP best practice recommendations based on past work.
•    May coordinate activities of Developers.
