The initial term is through the end of August, though they believe there is extremely high likelihood of extension for probably three years total.* *Position details: Requires someone who is EXCELLENT with SQL. **This is a data-centric testing position, that requires in-depth SQL skills.* Senior Quality Assurance Tester, Albany, NY - downtown Albany, NY – 40 hours/week – M-F onsite The Quality Assurance (QA) tester will run tests on new developed code and applications, record defects and issues encountered in testing activities. The QA tester will assist with identification of operational issues, risk assessment and issue resolution before the application is complete for production release. Primary responsibilities include: Run various Structured Query Language (SQL) tests on newly developed or enhanced or remediated programming code to ensure testing of all approved design documentation including specifications and requirements. Record finding details, participate in collaborative finding remediation discussions with the vendor and perform remediation retesting. Apply knowledge and experience to recognize the potential for operational issues, assess risk and resolve issues prior to production coding release. *5+ years of experience in testing and SQL* *Strong SQL skills* Experience with public health insurance programs preferred, or public health data Experience with interpretation of design documentation to support complex SQL testing scripts in a data warehouse environment Familiarity with defect management systems Basic understanding of data warehouse design, programming concepts and languages Bachelor’s degree in computer information science or computer science Senior QA Tester Skills The QA tester is expected to demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
