Electrical Cost Specialist Chattanooga TN Job Description * RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Deploy VAVE program globally to achieve total cost improvement goals * Develop and execute annual project plan with preferred suppliers to ensure VAVE year-over-year cost improvement goals are met * Own overall project management for VAVE projects including development and execution of action plans and tracking of projects using daily visual management boards * Ensure engagement of cross-functional and regional teams participation in the VAVE process (including R&D, Product Management, Technical Support, Manufacturing, Procurement and Finance) * Lead internal and supplier VAVE workshops to identify cost savings opportunities and eliminate waste through the entire value stream by using the VAVE process * Develop and implement Should-Cost models * Conduct product teardowns and benchmark analysis of competitive products * Work closely with Preferred suppliers to understand their manufacturing capabilities and processes to identify cost savings opportunities Primary Skills * Graduate in Mechanical Engineering * Automotive Electrical Systems * Strong project management skills required, Leadership skills necessary to influence and lead cross-functional project teams as well as negotiate with supply base Knowledge and experience with Design for Manufacturing and Should-Cost tools * Previous success with Cost Improvement project management, understanding cost drivers, constructing total cost of ownership (TCO) models and implementation of cost improvement projects * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously * Capability to present and teach VAVE concepts to suppliers and peer groups * Knowledge of manufacturing processes for automotive electrical systems * Engineering systems knowledge, SolidWorks, Engineering change process Secondary Skills * Good oral and written English language skills. * Strong technical writing skills. * Ability to effectively represent information and respond to questions in a meeting environment. * Microsoft office & power point * Good presentation Skills Any specific industry experience Automotive OEMS/ Tier1's / Tier 2 Education Equivalent of B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech If I miss your call please send me an e-mail, I will get back to you shortly.
