Role Description (Sr. Scrum Master – T8)
Key leadership role responsible for guiding team/organization on use of agile/scrum practices and values, encourage self-organization, assess scrum maturity of the team, help remove impediments, facilitate discussions, decision making and conflict resolution. Supports product owner and technical lead by maintaining and facilitating backlog grooming.
Position Summary
1) Arrange for daily stand-up meetings, facilitate and schedule meetings, demo and follow local scrum ceremonies (daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective, etc.)
2) Manage and Oversee at least 2 scrum teams. Own and conduct Scrum of Scrum meetings and other cross scrum team ceremonies
3) Properly manage the backlog and aid team in determining suitable commitments for product backlog items and sprints
4) Create a positive and easy communication channel (team, product owner, stakeholders)
5) Protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions and remove impediments
6) Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity and innovation. Mentor junior scrum master and participate in department level COE (Center of Excellence)
7) Use Jira as a tool to assist scrum team efficiency
8) Help balance the prioritization of technical debt against new feature innovation and software delivery
9) Address team dynamics, resolve conflict and resource constraints
Required Qualifications
1) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and
2) 3-5 years of Agile delivery experience / recent hands-on experience as a Scrum Master
3) Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, with technical and non-technical audiences
4) Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified or Professional Scrum Trainer (CST, PST)
5) Experience on software development teams with an understanding of software development and software quality disciplines
6) Strong understanding of Scrum and Kanban principles
7) Passion for leading Scrum teams to continually improve quality and delivery
8) Proficient in agile/ scrum development methodology
9) Ability to work both in a team and alone
10) Working knowledge of a leading relational database management system
