Master Data Management Specialist- Boston MA
Longterm duration

·         Extensive experience working with different types of data, and
particularly Master and Reference data, data analysis, data modeling, data
integration (ETL), data profiling and database design in the MDM/ RDM
space. S/he should have knowledge of leading trends and best practices in
MDM and RDM.

·         Has hands-on experience in MDM/RDM design, development, support
and operations using some leading MDM/RDM suite of tools like Informatica,
IBM, Talend and Orchestra Networks.

·         Demonstrated experience communicating technical information to
project teams, stakeholders and governing councils.

·         Works with Conceptual, Logical, Physical and Dimensional Data
Modeling

·         Analyze business’s master and reference data needs.

·         Design, develop, implement and maintain MDM/RDM solutions across
all business areas and data domains, using MDM/RDM suite of tools.

·         Provide technical leadership for MDM and RDM systems.

·         Investigate system issues and recommend alternatives for
resolution. Also, recommend options to improve system effectiveness and
efficiency.

·         Draft and communicate MDM/RDM data strategies and vision.

·         Identify data owners and stewards of various MDM/RDM domains,and
articulate what ‘ownership’ means.

·         Understand and identify system dependencies.

·         Understand functionality, integration points and impacts of
proposed changes to existing applications. Follow through with options and
recommendations.

·         Consult with others to validate complex design decisions,
effectiveness of systems flow, data usage, and manual or automated
processes.

·         Assist with data mappings, data modeling, data profiling, query
design, data flow design, data strategy and data governance etc.

·         Monitor how data is used in various business processes to
identify gaps, discrepancies and the opportunities to further improve
quality of master and reference data.

·         Identify and reconcile inconsistencies in data definitions, e.g.,
synonyms and homonyms.

·         Identify, maintain and keep current, the list of valid values
(LoV’s).

·         Engage in master and reference data quality improvement through
analysis and remediation of data quality issues.

·         Assist in the build out of conceptual, logical and physical data
models, and to document business concepts, data entities, data elements and
relationships.

·         Engage with business and IT to define and capture data
definitions, business rules and data quality rules.

·         Assist in the creation of data dictionaries and business
glossaries to document data lineages, data definitions and metadata for all
business-critical master and reference data domains.

·         Implement data quality management processes.

·         Identify data quality metrics and design processes that track and
measure data quality continually.
