Responsibility for practicing and implementing UX design practices throughout DH product development. *Key Responsibilities* - Incorporate Agile, Lean, and User Centered Design methodologies to execute on product development, implementation and operations - Serve as a UX/UI Designer in a balanced team developing Digital Health solutions and products within the Digital Health Studio *Other Responsibilities* - Work in dedicated, co-located product teams, consisting of Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Designers - Partner with PMs to lead kickoff, Discovery and Framing, and other exploratory activities for each project - Articulate Product Vision and Strategy to the team, to stakeholders, and to external parties - Establish User Centered product outputs in collaboration with other Designers - Proactively work to ensure high quality designs and stakeholder satisfaction - Help ensure shared understanding of business and user goals - Participate in ongoing planning and adjustment of strategic goals, scope, and timelines - Partner with Product Manager(s) to lead kickoff, Discovery and Framing, and other exploratory activities for each product - Articulate Product Design Vision to the team, to stakeholders, and to external parties - Adjust product direction based on data and end-user feedback - Participate in design critique meetings - Collaborate with Engineering on product design, divisional stakeholders on strategy, optimal product definition and the Agile, Lean, DevOps process and culture - Work with colleagues in other Design functions within BSC, enable communication and compliance with BSC design guidelines - Represent and share the core values and culture of the DH Studio team, User-Centered Design, Design thinking, agile, PLAD, and XP in all of his/her actions - Support existing efforts to establish and build credibility for the Digital Health Studio’s internal differentiated development capabilities - Directly collaborate with team members to resolve issues and drive agile and lean best practices. - Adjust product direction based on end-user feedback and data, and business stakeholder feedback - Help communicate product updates back to business stakeholders through frequent communications such as weekly demo. - Help maintain a sustainable pace for the team - Help maintain team culture and communication - Work with colleagues in IT and R&D, and partner with Quality, Regulatory, HR, Legal, and Finance to drive the adoption of modern Lean/Agile/DevOps practices - Represent and share the core values and culture of the DH Studio team, agile, PLAD, and XP in all of his/her actions: Teach by showing, rather than telling; Sit with the team in a co-located environment; constantly collaborate with internal and external team members and stakeholders; own the product; maintain a sustainable pace; value individual interactions over processes; respond to change positively and proactively; practice giving and receiving feedback in a healthy manner. - Ensure incorporation of product security, data privacy, quality, UX/UI/Ethnography principles, methodologies and enabling technologies. - Directly collaborate with team members to resolve issues and drive agile and lean best practices. - Promote a balanced product development team: integrate and enrich engineering, product design, product management, and data science cultures internally - Drive lean, agile, product, and dev-ops thought and culture into the larger IT organization - Maintain and continuously upgrade her/his knowledge of Digital Health and consumer wellness technologies, external competitive landscape, regulations, clinical settings, clinical workflows, DH product interconnectivity and system integrations, disease states; capable of learning rapidly to fill any knowledge gaps *Desired Skills * */ Experiences* - Experience designing full-service consumer and business applications, translating complex user needs, technical constraints, and business goals into thoughtful, effective digital experiences - Expertise in user experience and interaction design, user research, and visual design - Successful track record of leading products from discovery through iterative development and delivery - Experience working to support the application of user-centered design and design thinking methodologies in a development context - Experience shipping both new products as well as improving upon existing ones. - Experience working in both startup and large corporate environments. - Experience working in an agile team. - Experience working in a balanced, collocated team. - Ability to deliver and receive feedback in a positive, constructive, and kind manner. - Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and understand new fields, and to communicate effectively with SMEs across different subject areas and functions. *Basic Qualifications* - BS Degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent related practical experience - 7+ years of professional experience and an online portfolio that showcases digital creative - 7+ years’ experience being part of an agile software development team - 5 + years’ experience to modern software development product management practices and agile methodologies, specifically the extreme programming (XP) principles of paired programming, test driven development, and continuous improvement/continuous deployment - Demonstrated strong work experience in UX for healthcare software development and delivery - Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners on product and experience strategy and direction - Demonstrated experience in all phases of the design process – from conceptual design to prototyping to launch - Demonstrated ability to guide product decisions through user research, customer development, and iterative feedback loops *Preferred Qualifications* - Masters in related field - 6+ years’ regulated industry experience - Demonstrated Life Sciences industrial experience - Experience with and curiosity of agile and lean philosophies - Experience working in an interdisciplinary setting, preferably in the medical device or healthcare sector - Experience working in a dedicated, co-located product teams, consisting of Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Designers - Understanding of modern front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g. HAML/SASS, grid systems, responsive design) - Experience working in a regulated industry - Experience shipping both new products as well as improving upon existing ones - Experience working in both startup and large corporate environments - Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and understand new fields, and to communicate effectively with SMEs across different subject areas and functions.
