Electrical Engineer | Hardware Design Stowe MA Job Description Roles & Responsibilities The Electrical Engineer will work in a high velocity and dynamic environment with a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation. Design state of the art automotive amplifiers Participate in New Product Development activities including market research, competitive analysis, and seek out new and disruptive technologies to determine R&D strategies Develop new features and circuits to add innovative new capabilities, decrease cost/size/weight, or increasing quality and reliability for the products Design and analyze circuits using simulation tools to produce well-understood designs prior to building physical hardware prototypes Plan and execute tests to validate that designs meet all requirements and have sufficient design margin for high quality in harsh automotive environments Complete the full product development lifecycle including creating documentation for requirements and designs; following and maintaining design guidelines; holding and documenting design reviews; generating test reports, and creating guides for debugging and training Ensure that product deliverables are met on time and on budget Tools & Technologies Utilized Embedded Software & Systems Low-level Device Drivers Hardware Design: Circuits, PCBs, Digital Signal Processors (DSP) and Mixed Signal Processing Audio Amplifiers Serial Data Bus protocols: I2C, SPI, QSPI, USB, Ethernet Digital Audio formats: I2S, TDM, MOST Circuit Design & Analysis Analog Amplifiers Test Lab Equipment: Oscilloscopes, Audio Analyzers, Signal Generators, Programmable Power Supplies PCB Routing Circuit Design & Simulation Tools: PSpice, LTSpice, Spectre, Sigrity Circuit/PCB Schematics Tools: Cadence, Allegro Knowledge & Skills Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering At least five (5) years of experience on projects related to development and design of hardware to support Audio devices - within the Automotive or Transportation industry is highly desired Experience in the implementation of mixed-signal and amplifier components for Audio Experienced in the design and analysis of circuits such as uCs, Digital Signal Processors (DSPs), Analog Amplifiers, Switching & Linear Voltage Regulators, and Serial Communication Protocols Highly proficient with maintenance and use of laboratory test equipment to plan, setup, and execute V&V testing activities Highly proficient with PCB routing Highly proficient with CISPR-25 EMC requirements Excellent interpersonal skills with high proficiency in written English and spoken English Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure that all project deliverables are met on time and under budget whenever possible Excellent foundational knowledge in system level requirements for EE products, sub-systems, and systems Strong ability to identify issues and perform root-cause analysis to generate corrective actions Strong ability to coach, mentor, and develop junior engineers Highly capable with research and development, new product development, brainstorming, market research, competitive analysis, and product development strategies If I miss your call please send me an e-mail, I will get back to you shortly.
