Job Description:
The Quick Hit program needs a Software Engineer IV to perform the coding portion of SQL Server databases and MVC applications. They will use the standards and tools set forth by the Shared Services AppDev team. They will need to document based on the OIS SDLC and standardized practices.
The Health Systems Division needs a database that can be used to track changes to Medicaid billing codes over time to comply with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Health Evidence Review Commission (HERC) mandates. There will also need to be a small web app that provides administration screens for Business Support Unit (BSU) staff to import files and manage code data. This would include a read-only feature that allows BSU staff to coordinate the efforts of Policy and BSU, keeping up with the changing landscape of Medicaid billing. Implementing the database will alleviate most problem areas, including:
- Inappropriately denied claims
- Provider Services Unit (PSU) increased calls for denials
- Provider frustrations due to billing issues
- CMS mandates not being resolved in a timely manner
- Policy code changes to BSU not sent timely and precisely
- MMIS reference subsystem being current and correct
Software Engineer IV description from the rate card:
Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications. Supports and installs software applications, operating systems. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams. Provides technical support to project team members. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least six years or equivalent experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
