The Department of Environmental Protection, through the Conservation and Environment Delivery Center, is looking for an experienced Scrum Master to serve on one or more agile teams. In this role you’ll be responsible for promoting and supporting Scrum through helping the organization and members of the Scrum Team understand its theory, practices, rules, and values. The ideal candidate understands and practices servant leadership and enables teams to self-organize, self-manage, and deliver products using effective Scrum practices. Though the focus of this position is on Scrum, knowledge of other agile practices, such as Kanban, Extreme Programming, etc. is a plus as this will enable the candidate to adapt to the needs of the team and the work at hand.
Primary Responsibilities Include
• Guiding the team and organization to follow Scrum and other agile practices.
• Guiding and coaching the Development Team to become self-organized.
• Helping the Product Owner effectively manage the Product Backlog.
• Facilitating Scrum events as needed.
• Removing impediments to the progress of the Development Team.
• Influencing and leading organizational change that positively impacts the Scrum Team.
• Working with other Scrum Masters to improve the practice and application of Scrum and other agile practices in the organization.

• Helping the Product Owner effectively manage the Product Backlog.

Qualifications/Requirements
• Scrum Master certification required, either PSM 1 or CSM
• At least 2 years of experience serving as Scrum Master on 1 or more Scrum Teams
• Advanced Scrum Master certification, or other agile certifications, nice to have.
• At least 2 years of experience serving as Scrum Master on 1 or more Scrum Teams
• Advanced Scrum Master certification, or other agile certifications, nice to have.
