Role: Sr. QA Automation Engineer Location: San Francisco, CA Long Term Contract Job Description: . Assists in defining user stories and the acceptance criteria therein . Assists in ensuring that technical designs are easily testable . Authors and audits test specifications for products, features and components . Writes unit, component and integration tests . Aids in selection of test writing tools and techniques . Identifies opportunities to improve testing effectiveness through automation of integration tests . Writes code that meets or exceeds all coding standards . Curates complex data sets necessary for repeatable tests of integrated systems . Validates test results for complex systems . Reports test failures in a timely and detailed manner . Adapts test suites to exercise code against new defects found . Has all code reviewed by a Lead or Principal Quality or Software Engineer . Performs code reviews . Tracks time for assigned stories and overhead . Provides estimates for story testing work . Interacts with team members, business users, other IT teams and managers . Communicates technical issues clearly and concisely . Is a productive contributor to the team's efforts to assess user stories and the technical challenges inherent in solving them . Accountable for testing of all stories as well as component, integration and regression testing of components and features . Identifies feature and module dependencies . Proposes mitigation plans for identified risks and problems . Suggests process improvements and best practices . Identifies new areas that could be tested and measured . Able to identify, evaluate and discuss alternative technologies and techniques . Justifies decisions and strives or peer consent . Sphere of influence is within the team and a small group of peers . Mentors co-workers within area of expertise, improves other's productivity . Provides guidance for the work performed by contractors .
