Position Title: Network Engineer
Location: Vienna, VA
Duration: 6+ Months
Research, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain system and product solutions, applying knowledge of Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) engineering principles. Provide technical direction and engineering support for projects and infrastructure. Develop and maintain advanced functional knowledge of evolving IT engineering industry technologies/competition, concepts and trends.
Responsibilities
• Plan, test, and implement upgrades, using the Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC)
• Automate and perform daily operational duties supporting the Data Center Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)
• Expand and maintain the networking environment as necessary by establishing system configurations, directing system installation, and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards.
• Establish configuration standards, as well as configure routing, and switching equipment.
• Maximizes network performance, troubleshoots network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
• Secures network system by enforcing policies.
• Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects
• Establish and lead project teams
• Develop project plan/scope/schedule/cost/communications
• Ensure successful project implementation
• Apply engineering principles into the design and enhancement of new and existing systems
• Document new system components, or modifications to existing components
• Ensure the security and integrity of system and product solutions including compliance with Navy Federal, industry engineering and Information Security principles and practices
• Perform engineering tasks and assignments in support of business needs
• Perform engineering technology research, procurement, deployment, and configuration for new and modified systems
• Present clear, organized and concise information to all audiences through a variety of media to enable effective business decisions
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience

Position Title: Network Engineer - Need Locals who can go F2F
Duration: Long Term
Location: Washington, DC
Job RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide monthly metrics for network availability and bandwidth usage as well as other metrics as requested
· Provide a high level of technical understanding for problem solving and troubleshooting
· Interact with Hardware and Software vendors to address issues when necessary
· Use escalation standards and personal judgment to ensure timely resolution of problems
· Accept and resolve escalated trouble tickets from Service Desk
· Closet patching, network troubleshooting, ticket resolution
· Work On-Call shift rotations with other members of the department
Required EDUCATION, Skills AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Science required, equivalent years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree
· 5-8 Years’ experience working in the communications/cable/ IT Industry
· Experience with Cisco hardware and software (Cisco Switches, Routers, IOS or IOS XR)
· Experience supporting Cisco Unified Communications platforms to include wireless controllers and access points, Cisco Prime, Cisco ISE.
· Experience with VOIP/ SIP Networking, Cisco IP Phones, firewall, cisco security products
· Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANS and routing protocols (EI, GRP, OSPF, BGP)
· Understanding of IP services (DHCP, TFTP and DNS)
· Ability to learn other technologies including Video Networks
· Organizational Skills (ability to organize large amounts of data in a logical manner)
· Excellent Troubleshooting Skills and usage of tools such as ping, telnet and trace route
· Availability to troubleshoot and resolve issues during off-work hours and/or extended hours when outages or projects require
