Articulate findings, report observations/bugs to the development team. Prepare test reports * Develop test plans and methodologies that involves testing of Teleprotection product that supports IEC 61850 protocol (GOOSE & MMS). * Analyze functional requirements, customer use-case scenarios to perform system-level testing on new software/firmware builds, release candidates. * Grasp and analyze customer use-case scenarios to perform system-level testing of new software/firmware builds/ release candidates for Teleprotection equipment. * Troubleshoot and characterize product performance issues to improve product quality, and reliability ultimately leading to an improved product experience for the end-user. * Act independently with considerable judgment & initiative to determine methods and procedures for complex, high-impact testing/troubleshooting assignments. * Document test results, bugs, issues using online tools such as - TestRail, Bugzilla, JIRA etc.
Primary Skills Proven experience with testing industrial products which comply with IEC 61850 protocol, * Proficient with using Selenium for creating automated test plans for industrial products (proficiency is must, someone who has just dabbled in Selenium will not be considered). * Demonstrated fluency with IEC 61850 protocol as a System-Test Engineer, * BSEE, BSCS, BSCE Degree with at least 5 years of industrial experience. Master's degree preferred. * Must have at least 3 years of experience as a Test Engineer for testing firmware, software for entirely new products, * Must possess strong understanding of System-level testing concepts and methods (Smoke testing, Integration Testing, stress testing, Regression Testing), * Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills in order to report test results, bugs, observations, * Demonstrated experience of interacting with firmware/software developers, product engineers, product management for test results review/discussion/reporting, * Demonstrated experience of efficiently working in a fast-paced, goal-oriented product development environment, * Must be a quick learner. A self-starter who can effectively work with minimal guidance. * Proficient in using test, validation tools such as Wireshark, Terminal Emulators (SSH, Telnet, PuTTY etc.). QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED: * Good understanding of Substation Relays, Teleprotection channels, Systems based on T1/E1, C37.94 protocols is a plus. * Previous experience of working with the following test equipment/tools is a plus: 61850 Test Suite Pro, Test Harness or any other DNP3 Master simulator, TDM and Ethernet traffic generators/ analyzers (MTTPlus, ONT-600, Fireberd, Xena, Sage etc.), Any specific industry experience 4-8 years of experience in Software manual testing.
