The Information Research East group at the Pharmaceutical Client supports a variety of data analytics and visualization workloads serving a community of scientists focusing on pharmaceutical R&D. This position offers the opportunity to work in a cross functional team of scientists and IT professionals in building the next generation of web apps, BI and Datawarehouse solutions. We are looking for an exceptional candidate with a programming background, data management experience in supporting the life sciences and a focus on delivering flexible BI solutions. A successful candidate will be someone who seeks and excels in applying novel approaches to difficult and complex structured and unstructured data. Key Responsibilities Include: * Work within a focused team in developing and enhancing bespoke dashboards and data management strategies to carry out their implementation including web applications forms and database connections. * Design and implement nested SQL and Postgres queries, and/or materialized views for ease of Data Connections to Spotfire. Experience in Oracle or PostgreSQL required. * Work directly with researchers and scientists as a member of their team in designing, prototyping/testing, tuning data for data analytics and visualizations. * Respond to user's requests for direct support of Spotfire or Shiny application troubleshooting. * Assist users to create wire-frame visualizations. Help guide their analytical processes through understanding their work and data flows. * Use Pharmaceutical Client Inc. values to govern decisions, actions and behaviors. Writes and maintains test automation. Specific Responsibilities: * Initiate and Plan Project: Works with business and IT management to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, financials and deliverables. * Project Control: Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect the project, working with business and IT management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution. Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget. * Executing and Closing Project: Develops and executes a work plan obtaining authorized resources to ensure all activities are performed. Leads team in delivering project scope. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders. * Project Communication: Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate program status and decision support information to project teams, business, and IT management. Makes recommendations based on current project status to resolve issues and manage risks. * Resource and Team Management: Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities. Motivates project team in order to deliver project outcomes. * Quality Management: Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and functional policies and procedures. * Decisions: Make decisions that impact project level activities.
