Job Title: Senior Hadoop Developer
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 12+ months
Client: HCL/Apache Corp
Long term contract, Houston TX. Phone interview screens to start. H1s are ok
for this one, must come to Houston on their own.
Must Have Oil & Gas/petroleum industry Exp
**MUST have an active linkedin profile that matches resume**
Required Experience:
* 4-year degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent experience required
* 2+ years as a Sr Hadoop Developer , with experience in cluster
configuration, database and table design (Hive, HBase, Druid), YARN
configuration, Oozie scheduling, Zookeeper, Ambari configuration
* 3+ years as a Hadoop Developer in the following disciplines
* Hive and HBase
* Spark
* Scala
* Spark Streaming and Kafka
* Strong SQL skills (HIVE QL)
* Experience in Python, Sqoop, Oozie, Ranger a plus
* Experience in performance tuning Hive tables required
* Experience in the configuration of YARN, MapReduce for performance,
security is a plus
* Experience in Druid a plus
* Experience with GIT code repository a plus
* Oil & Gas Experience Required
Responsibilities/Activities:
* Bring relevant experience and expertise to our use cases, helping
architect the optimal, efficient, manageable, and performant solutions.
* Develop efficient/performant processes to ingest data from outside
sources and persist that data into data stores such as Hive, HBase, and Druid
for consumption in end-user analytical tools.
* Responsibilities will include enriching the data with data from other
sources as required
* Tools used: Must have experience in BOLD
* Hortonworks
* Ambari
* Spark/ Spark Streaming
* Scala
* HiveQL
* Kafka
* Sqoop
* Oozie
* Ranger
* Other relevant Hadoop technologies
* Ensure performance on our processes is optimal
* Ensure code is properly tested and meets established standards.
* Practice established development disciplines such as good code
management, branching and merging of code in a GIT repository
* Ensure code performs adequately to meet customer expectations.
* Ensure developed processes are running successfully and within allotted
timeframes.
* Provide support for, troubleshoot and patch existing processes.
