*Job Description:* The Senior Oracle Database Administrator (RAC Emphasis) specializes in planning, designing, implementing and maintaining Oracle Real Access Cluster (RAC) systems utilizing storage managed through Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) as well as managing the database structures hosted on these systems. This is an onsite or remote position. Top Skills • Installs and maintains Oracle RAC systems for enterprise users • Plans, implements and utilizes ASM according to Oracle best practices • Effectively interfaces with multiple user groups regarding RAC database services • Successfully plans and implements disaster recovery for RAC systems • Communicates extremely effectively with all stakeholders in the RAC instances • Documents and maintains information pertaining to RAC systems including configuration and maintenance records Functions • Plan and design Oracle RAC systems in cooperation with other IT service groups necessary to build out and deploy • Utilize ASM to manage storage supporting RAC systems including the addition of new disks and disk groups • Evaluate existing ASM and RAC systems and propose changes if necessary in keeping with Oracle best practices • Establish and follow an Oracle patch schedule for all existing RAC systems • Communicate all scheduled Oracle-related outages to RAC consumers • Interacts with a diverse group of database users including end users as well as IT management • Utilizes a help desk and ticketing system for tracking issues to resolution • Work with application developers to optimize and tune programmatic database access Requirements • Five years of professional experience in administering RAC and ASM-based systems • Seven years of professional experience in Oracle database administration • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field of study • Must have experience installing, configuring and utilizing Oracle RAC systems including ASM • Must have significant experience in utilizing Oracle Database 12c and OEM • Experience in utilizing the RedHat Linux and Oracle Solaris operating systems • Must have hands-on experience with Oracle Data Guard utilized with RAC systems and understand different configurations • Must have knowledge and experience in troubleshooting application performance issues as they relate to database usage and must be familiar with the tools to troubleshoot performance issues • Needs extensive experience with RMAN and understand backup options with the tool • Must be able to perform standard Oracle DBA tasks Preferred • Oracle certified in Oracle 11g • Oracle certified in Oracle 12c • Oracle 18c exposure • Experience in a health care environment Thanks...
