Role: SmallTalk Programmer

Location: Whitehouse Station, New Jersey

Long Term Contract

 

JD:

The role is for a Smalltalk programmer responsible for the design,
development and unit testing of changes on a legacy Smalltalk application
using the VisualAge Instantiations platform of Smalltalk:

.         Role will include making screen UI modifications, updating product
definition, and/or building out XML APIs to expose Smalltalk business
process functionality in stateless services.  

.         Role will also include adding and maintaining API test cases in
XML and JSON in a test bed, resolving Smalltalk packaging issues, debugging
Smalltalk processes, as well as deploying Smalltalk runtime package to a
cloud-based container environment.

.         Role requires a minimum of 5 years of Smalltalk experience in an
enterprise setting. Experience with agile development process is preferred.

 

Summary Job Requirements:

1.      Smalltalk Object Oriented development experience using VisualAge for
Smalltalk

2.      Minimum of 5 years of application development experience with an
Object Oriented programming language

3.      Minimum 3 years of experience as a lead developer capable of working
independently on a task from design to implementation and test

4.      Ability to lead upgrades by coordinating work amongst multiple teams
and correlating status.

5.      Required skills: Smalltalk, XML, JSON, NodeJS, Git

6.      Nice to have: Insurance Domain knowledge
