May seek advice to make decisions on complex business issues • 6+ years of professional experience in C programming, Unix & SQL. • DSS Batch needed – Skills: C, Unix, SQL, Oracle, DSS, CEP, ETL Experienced DSS Developer who worked on an MMIS Interchange account as a DSS Developer. • 5+ years of demonstratable experience working in a data warehouse environment, and ETL concepts as seen in a traditional data warehouse environment (landing zone, stage tables, warehouse, data-marts, presentation). • Assists and guides the team through tasks to analyze, improve, and tune existing scripts, ETL, and reports. • Participates as a member of software development team or teams; may lead a software development team. • Completes development of software units; may designs software units for others. • Contributes to software design activities; may design software solutions. • Develops software code independently; participates in code reviews and may lead code reviews. • Lead and provide mentoring and guidance to less senior software developers. • Applies Gainwell and 3rd party technologies to moderate to complex software solutions. • Independently implements end-user or enterprise solutions complexity or services prepared by more senior technologists for more complex solutions. • More than 6 years of experience writing code using languages such as (and not limited to) COBOL, PL/1, Java, C, C++, C#, VB.Net. • Good understanding of RDBMS databases such SQL Server and Oracle. • Create data-models and structures which support analytical applications; mostly normalized but some star schemas. • Basic understanding of modern software design and development methodologies (e.g., OO). • Experience on one or more full release project life cycles. • Strong understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management). • Good understanding of testing tools and unit and integration test scripting, and testing methodologies. • Experience using an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio). • Strong understanding basic Database Administration. • Able to apply consistently quality and security standards. • Good verbal and written communication skills.
